Biography

Jordan Mitchell is the VP of Data Intelligence at the Rubicon Project. He was the Founder and CEO of Others Online, which was acquired by the Rubicon Project in 2009. Others Online offered online media companies affinity profiling software that helped them better understand, segment, target and monetize their audience.

Since 1995, Jordan has been growing technology companies from their founding to profitability and market leadership positions. Jordan’s wide-ranging skills and experience in operations, business development, sales, product development, corporate finance and strategic planning embody true entrepreneurship. Jordan quickly understands business models and market opportunities, and then focuses intently on the elements necessary for success.

In 2003 he joined 121Media, Inc. to help them build a contextual advertising software platform. As COO/Director, Jordan was responsible for all business operations, business development, finance, legal and management of a joint venture in the US. Within this role, he was instrumental to the company’s growth from zero annual revenues and 13 employees to $6M annual revenues and 40 employees across 3 offices (New York, London and Paris). Jordan also played a critical role in the company’s fund-raising efforts, authoring and presenting the business plans, financial models and investor presentations that led to over $4M in pre-IPO financing and an initial public offering on the London Stock Exchange in December 2004.

In 2001, Jordan co-founded Siaxx Corporation to develop the first “universal remote control” for IT systems management. Under Jordan’s leadership, Siaxx raised sufficient capital to release v1.0 of the product, achieve 95% market validation, and reach profitability in 2002.

In 1995, Jordan founded an e-business solutions firm in Seattle, which he sold in 1996, then continued running the business as a subsidiary. By 1999, having grown the company to $2M+ annual revenues and 15 employees, Jordan orchestrated the sale of the subsidiary to Meridian Partners Ltd. With Jordan contributing as a key member of the management team, Meridian Partners (now known as Saltmine) grew their revenues 5x to achieve annual sales of over $35M in 2000, becoming the largest Internet solutions firm in the Pacific Northwest.

Previously, Jordan was a controller for a leading high-tech advertising firm in Seattle, and prior to that spent 4 years with the international CPA firm BDO Seidman in San Francisco.

He is a graduate from Michigan State University with a degree in accounting and an emphasis in information systems.
